Tsunami

Gazing about I chanced
To throw a wayward glance,
Upon a view, sublime,
The Ocean.

I held my stare awhile,
It stretched many a mile,
The silent, subdued clime,
Overwhelming emotion.

About and around were strewed,
Religious rites construed,
Rendered Timeless in Time,
Unwavering devotion.

The fishermen at bay,
Exhausted children lay,
Routine at its prime,
Everyday commotion.

The water rose, a peak,
Its daunting height unique,
Its warning a mime,
Cataclysmic motion.

The water now receding,
Human ego conceding.
Natural the crime.
Poetic Goshen.
