Ahista

I’ve talked about the difference,

and talked about the time.

I’m irked by your indifference,

your unintelligible mime.

.

But I can wait, a hundred years,

Until you deign to see,

Despite my ordinary tears,

My life is you and me.

.

We’ve trundled through our favourite songs,

our favourite food and drink,

and somehow realized down along,

how similar we think.

.

And I see this as our problem now,

we meet where we diverge ,

our ’like’ poles repel somehow,

fighting to emerge.

.

And that’s okay, I’ll compromise,

they say that love must hurt,

and this is love in disguise,

this wallowing in dirt.

.

Just don’t let me act the fool,

my Achilles heel is me,

no exception to your rule,

until you set me free.
