Can You See
I heard the wind,
Whispering,
Slithering through the crummy window,
Panes
I heard the rain,
Beating,
Bathing the roughly thatched,
Roof.
I saw the parrots,
Mimicking,
Contemplating the sounds of routine,
and People.
I saw a light,
Bursting,
Screaming for the night to end,
for Dawn.
I saw people,
Weeping,
People who lost everything to the,
Floods.
I smelt the chicory,
Melting,
The rich blend seeping,
Enervating.
I smelt the putrid stench,
Decaying,
Dead and ignored,
Souls
I cried,
Trembling,
For the people of,
Yesterday.
