Jasmine

Why does a plant
as beautiful and fragrant as the jasmine
shed its flowers?

Perhaps it is content
and it wants nothing more
than to share its beauty
with the world.

Perhaps it is satisfied
with its colour, its shape
and its smell.

Or perhaps it is not
and gives of itself anyway.
